On the road: Luxembourg to Wehingen (DE) and back

Today I’m #ontheroad towards Germany on assignment for a customer success story photo reportage.

This is about industrial photography, proudly working for the company #FANUC, leader in the Factory Automation.

And so I’ve had a new idea: as I’m very often on the road on assignment, why not post a kind of live blogging showing what I see on my way to the destination?

Of course, paying attention to the safety rules, so I only take pictures when the road is empty, in slow speed or when I’m stuck by the traffic lights.

All the pictures are taken and elaborated with the iPhone 8plus

Road end!

See you on my next travel,

Sneak preview of my photo shooting in the forest of Luxembourg

A sneak preview of the photo shooting I had today, totally immersed in a beautiful forest somewhere in Luxembourg. A very special place that seems to be coming out of a fairytale.

Autumn is definitely the best time of the year to enjoy the green areas all over the country. The nature shows so many shades of warm colours and the underwood is full of different types of mushrooms.

Guess, where am I?

You will discover it soon, in the next few days I will upload the final pictures out of my wonderful Leica SL camera.

For now, just enjoy these few pictures I took with the iPhone 8Plus that demonstrate again to have a very good camera!

Thanks for reading, and please, come back soon for new pictures!

A presto,

Street life in Ginza, 8 pictures from the famous fashion district of Tokyo, Japan

Bonjour my friends,
this week I bring you back to Japan, precisely to one of the most crowded and vibrant cities in the world, heaven for street photographers: Tokyo

The Japanese capital is a unique place where each district is completely different from the others, from the traditional Asakusa to the modern and crazy Akihabara, without forgetting Shibuya, Odaiba, Roppongi and so on.

Luckily, I had the chance to visit all of them and, I can tell you, I would love to go back again and again and again, as there is always something new happening in these crowded and exciting streets.

Ginza, the fashion district

Today I want to bring you to the entertainment district, featuring numerous department stores, boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, nightclubs and cafes, and where you find the most expensive real estate in Japan: Ginza.

This is the place where all the main fashion brands show their beauty and richness by installing enormous stores and decorating the spaces with the most extravagant architectures and billboards.

The central Chuo Dori street, the vibrant heart of the district, gives you a lot of nice street photography opportunities, is just difficult to decide where to focus your attention.

My London: candid moments of urban and street life – with a Leica M

Hello, folks!
Today I want to bring you in
one of the most photographed places in the world, clearly a very touristic destination: London City.

I know, you are already thinking about the Big Ben, the London Bridge, Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and so on… Do these names sound familiar to you, right? I must admit, also for me, the city was always just about that.

Stay there, don’t leave, because this time I will show you a side of London that you are not used to see, as I will try to go more local, more Britis, If I may say so…

To get more original pictures, always follow the locals.

Being a street photographer, after some years of experience, I’ve learned that the best side of a place, the real soul, is always away from the touristic paths, where the locals are used to spend their daily routine.

And so, after many many times visiting London, and coming back always with the same boring pictures, I’ve decided to get rid of any transportation and explore another side of the city, all by foot, along the entire weekend.

With a Leica M and my legs.

At the end of these exhausting but certainly exciting two days, and walking for an incredible distance of 35km, I’ve seen a beautiful and vibrant side of the city, that I’ve never seen before.

with me, other than my beautiful wife, my lovely Leica M typ 262 and the two lenses, Summicron M 28mm f2 ASPH, and Summicron M 50mm f2

All starts from Mile End.

The long walking path starts from Mile End, and continue following the Regent’s Canal, then passing through Islington and then I just randomly choose the directions by following the instinct.

It was tough, but I may say that for the first time, I’ve breath the real British side of London, feeling not as a classic tourist. I finally had the chance to see a genuine of local life that you will never see around the most famous and iconic sightseeing.

And here are the pictures…

Cuba, life at the doorstep – 15 candid street photos – Part 1

As well as the majority of Latin countries, a lot of life is happening just at the doorsteps of the houses, where most of the locals spend their time, maybe only standing still.

This reminds me a lot of my hometown, in the south of Italy, where life is just happening outside, at any time and that’s why, while visiting Cuba, I love taking candid portraits of those people. And they were so open and pleased to be photographed. 🙂

I think, going through this photo series, you can really feel the genuine and humble atmosphere you would encounter by walking in the streets of Trinidad or La Havana.

Lisbon, 15 Street photos that will make you love this city (part 1)

Lisbon is that kind of place who could dream about any street photographer. The city indeed is full of life and colours but also so different from district to district.

From the seaside walk looking to the impressive “25 de Abril” suspension bridge, (very similar to the iconic one in San Francisco) and the beautiful elegant Belém tower up to the Alfama, the oldest district of the city, home of Fado nostalgic music, and to the many up and down streets in the Barrio Alto district.

There is a lot happening in here, most of the time supported by a wonderful weather that makes the atmosphere so vibrant and happy.

Lisbon is a city with many faces, endless shades As a street photographer who loves candid daily life moments, you just have to get lost and walk around without a map: every corner, every street, will give you something, either a picture or just a warm smile of a local.

But be aware: you need to be really well fit to explore the city, not only because is wide, but also because of many ups and downs.

Today I’m sharing with you the first of three series from this beautiful, unique city.

Lisbon, fragments of candid street life –  Part 1

(all the pictures below, were taken with a Fuji X-T1 and the Fujinon X 23mm f 1.4 R or the Fujinon X 14mm f2.8 R or the Fujinon X 35mm f1.4 R )

Thanks for reading and feel free to comment or share my pictures.
Stay tuned and keep visiting my blog to see the second and third series of Lisbon street photos.

Grazie,
Sabino
